Jesse R. Diaz is a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a vocal emphasis. While attending Millikin, Jesse began his teaching career as a student intern for Millikin Children's Choir where he worked under the direction of Dr. Beth Holmes.

Upon graduation, Jesse became Director of Choirs at Crete-Monee (Illinois) High School. He spent two years as Director of Crete's award winning show choirs: The Cavaliers and Faces. Under his direction, the choirs captured numerous Grand Champion titles and many caption awards such as Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Soloist in Show, and Best Crew. In addition to the show choirs, Jesse also directed the Concert Choir, Women's Ensemble, and the Middle School Chorale. Jesse also served as Musical Director for Crete's first musical, Songs for a New World. While at Crete, Jesse was also honored to be a Teacher of the Year nominee for the 2005-2006 school year.

Jesse is currently in his second year of work towards his Master of Music in Music Education at Ball State University. He is the Graduate Teaching Assistant with Ball State University Singers. Jesse still continues to serve as a consultant, adjudicator, and clinician for many show choirs around the Midwest.
